A lot of people will say that they don’t like themselves. Maybe they have low self-esteem, or maybe they don’t think they’re good enough for other people. The truth is that we all have issues and things about ourselves that we wish we could change. I know I do!

What does it really mean to be confident?

There are many ways to define confidence and there might not be one perfect answer but most people would agree that having confidence means believing in yourself no matter what situation you find yourself in.

This blog post will talk about confidence affirmations and how they can help boost your self-confidence so you can feel more comfortable with who you are, both inside and out!

We’ll also go over some tips for getting started if this sounds like something that interests you!

What are confidence affirmations?

An affirmation is just a statement that you’re telling yourself to build new beliefs about something. They can be used for all kinds of things, but the most common type of self-affirmation is to boost your confidence with statements.

Most of the time, people will create affirmations that they want to believe about themselves. These statements will then focus on your “want” so that you can build new beliefs about it. For example, maybe you’d like to be more confident in social situations or you want to feel confident in your body.

This might seem a little strange at first, but there’s a reason that it works so well. Studies have shown us that we can literally change the way our brain thinks about something by repeating these thoughts over and over again!

How to make affirmations work for you

First, make sure that whatever statement or affirmation you create is something YOU actually want to believe – not just something someone else thinks you should say. You can use the examples below to get started, but when you’re creating your own be sure that it’s something that will actually mean something to you and YOU only!

Think about what you want to believe about yourself. Maybe there are some things you’ve been struggling with recently or even something that has always bothered you about yourself.

Maybe you’re not happy with your public speaking skills or how you look but deep down inside you really wish you could love yourself for who you are and all the awesome things that make up who YOU are!

How to use confidence affirmations

Even if you don’t feel confident right now, you can change that by using these affirmations! Once you learn how to reframe your thinking, you will be able to overcome any obstacle and get that confidence back.

The most effective way to use a self-confidence affirmation is right when you wake up in the morning.

Just before getting out of bed, repeat one of the positive statements you have written down – and really mean it.

By repeating the affirmation first thing in the morning, you set your intention and reinforce this goal throughout the day.

First thing in the morning, your mind is in a very receptive state, the affirmations are most likely to take hold at this time.

If you repeat your confidence affirmations every day for a week or two, they will create new neural pathways that help to make these feelings of self-confidence a permanent part of your life.

How will it feel?

Waking up and repeating these affirmations may seem weird at first, but you’ll quickly find that they work! As you continue to repeat them, your confidence levels will rise until one day – boom! – you wake up feeling like the most confident version of yourself ever.

Confidence affirmations are all about being consistent. So, don’t give up if they don’t seem to work right away – keep repeating them, and soon you’ll see how strong a force self-confidence can be!

Do confidence affirmations work?

Have confidence affirmations worked for me? Hells yes! I used to struggle big time with my confidence. I hated networking events, struggled to make new friends and public speaking was a no-no. When I discovered affirmations, I was SUPER sceptical. I thought it would be impossible to change my confidence.

But I started to say affirmations to myself every day in the shower. It was subtle at first, but I started to enjoy saying them more and more.

Soon, I found myself wanting to network more, asking questions when I didn’t know the answer, and even trying public speaking! They helped me find my self-confidence and now I hope they’ll change your life too.

confidence

Here are some examples of self-confidence affirmations that EVERYBODY can use!

Example #1: I love myself.

For people who struggle with not liking themselves, this is a great one to start off with. It’s also suitable for people who don’t believe they’re worthy of the things they want in life and feel they aren’t allowed to have those things.

For these people, it may not be that they don’t like themselves but more that they feel undeserving of the things they want because they think their life is “less than” or “not as good” as other people’s. If this is you, then instead of focusing on loving yourself, we’re going to focus on the second part of this affirmation:

Example #2: I deserve love.

This particular statement is excellent for people who don’t feel like they’re worthy of something. This is one that most people can benefit from in some way or another, but definitely, those who struggle with feeling like they aren’t good enough!

Another variation of this is: I am worthy.

Example #3: I love and accept myself just the way I am.

This statement is great for people who struggle with body image issues or even feeling they aren’t enough in some other way. Our society can often tell us that we need to be a certain way, look a certain way, or even be a certain age to be considered attractive.

This one is great for anyone who cares what other people think of them. If there’s anything in your life that you’re struggling with and wish you could change about yourself but can’t (or aren’t allowed to) then this one might help!

Example #4: I am valuable and worthwhile.

This is another that most people can benefit from in some way or another! If you ever find yourself feeling like you’re not good enough for something or even worthless, then this one will work wonders to help alleviate those thoughts and feelings!

What daily affirmations can you use to build self-confidence?

Here are some more ideas. Either write your own personalized affirmations or choose from the ones below:

I am confident in my abilities.

I am a confident person

I am proud of the person I am.

I like myself.

I am enough.

It is easy for me to feel confident about my intelligence and capabilities.

There’s nothing that can’t be accomplished once I set my mind to it!

Confidence affirmations are sometimes seen as a bit cheesy because they don’t always seem believable.

They can feel very unrealistic at the moment, making it hard for people to take them seriously. But if you find yourself saying these phrases to yourself every day, you may start to notice a change: they become more and more second nature and soon your confidence will gradually improve!

Plus, repeating these phrases slowly but surely creates new neural pathways that help make these feelings of self-confidence a permanent part of your life. In other words, your brain learns to feel confident by believing and repeating these phrases. You literally have nothing to lose by giving this a try.

affirmations for confidence

Listen to your confidence affirmations

An amazing way to include confidence affirmations in your life is to have them playing in your ears as you work or go about your day.

Have them on in the background while you do a workout, the washing up or cooking dinner.

Say them to yourself while you put your makeup on or when you’re driving. Consistently listening and repeating the affirmations will slowly start to reprogramme your unconscious mind, so that these new, empowering thoughts become your norm.
